In The Valley of Dry Bones, Jerry B. Jenkins overlays the ancient End Times
prophecies of Ezekiel onto the landscape of modern California. A clash
of cultures, ethnicities, religions, and politics trigger terrorism blamed
on a deadly drought that pits friend against friend with the future of the
country at stake.
My thoughts: This is an interesting new story by Jerry B. Jenkins! I love that the main character hears from the Lord and has to grow into his prophetic calling. The story starts with a small band of people called "The Holdouts", who have felt called to stay in California after over 90% of the population have evacuated, and slowly grows as Zeke's calling does.
While the story wasn't quite as suspenseful as I thought it would be, it was an excellent, futuristic story about a natural disaster and God at work through it.
I received this book from Worthy in exchange for my honest review.
Thanks for the review.
ReplyDeleteI had wondered about it.
Sounds good.
It was interesting, for sure! Not quite what I expected, but still enjoyable.:)
