Full

Can the Bible help me with my food struggles?

Have you ever felt stuck in a seemingly endless cycle of overeating, yo-yo dieting, and obsessive thoughts about food?

Whether you feel defeated by your lack of self-control or overwhelmed by thoughts and longings for food, the answer to our food fixation does not lie in the $500 billion global diet industry.

This is not a diet book and it’s not a healthy eating plan. Because at the core, our problem is not really what we eat. It’s why we seek fullness in something that will never satisfy.

Join Asheritah Ciuciu as she shares honestly about her own battles with food and reveals the path to freedom. You’ll discover the joy of living free from food fixation so you can experience deeper satisfaction in Christ, gain a renewed sense of purpose, and yes, even enjoy good food (without regret).

A healthier relationship with food through a stronger relationship with Christ—that’s the goal of Full.

Includes a quiz to help you find out if you have food fixation, plus practical strategies for overcoming it.

My thoughts: This book was the perfect choice to read at the beginning of a new year, with wanting to stick to my new years resolutions of eating healthier and being better about exercising. I appreciated how thorough this book is and how many different personal stories are shared throughout the book. If you battle food fixations or think you have an unhealthy view of food, then I highly recommend this book!

Let Food Be Your Medicine

Don Colbert, M.D., New York Times best-selling author of The Seven Pillars of Health and What Would Jesus Eat, provides proven tools, based on current research, for good health, an alert mind, and a longer life.

My thoughts: Dr. Don Colbert opens up about his own journey to becoming healthier and overcoming health problems that left his doctors telling him he would never walk again, only to have his muscles heal themselves and prove them wrong.
With the modified Mediterranean diet, Dr. Colbert goes through the basic principles and how changing the way one eats can help promote health and a better way of life. I love that a lot of what he talks about just makes sense, though I don't know that I am totally won over to all aspects of his diet. I do appreciate the recipes that are included in the book to help jump start the diet and give one ideas on what to eat and when.
This is an excellent book to pick up if your new years resolution is to become healthier!

The 4x4 Diet

Discover the 4 key foods and the 4-minute workouts that will change the way readers look and feel in just 4 weeks. Celebrity trainer and former marine Erin Oprea's motto is "lean and clean." Her unique 4 x 4 diet shows readers how to get clean by reducing the 4 major hitches in most diets: sugar, starch, sodium, and alcohol. She also tells readers how to get lean, using her 4-minute tabata workouts: 8 repititions of 20 seconds of high-intensity moves, then 10 seconds of rest. Within 4 weeks, the average person will be able to reduce bloating and belly fat; gain increased muscle definition in the arms, legs, and stomach; improve cardiovascular endurance; and break sugar and sodium addictions. Complete with meal plans and recipes, the 4 x 4 diet is perfect for anyone looking to streamline their body and lifestyle.

My thoughts: I am so excited about this book! While I can't exactly diet at the moment, I plan to use this book this summer.;) I like that the foods it talks about being careful around are ones that you can still eat, you just have to watch that you are eating good carbs and watching your sugar intake, two things that I know I need to work on. I love the recipes and workouts in this book! It looks like an excellent plan to get one into great shape!
