Take Ten: Halloween Freebie

I'm not really one for Halloween, since I have an overactive imagination and don't get into the creepy/ghoulish side of the holiday. But, I do like costumes and chocolate. lol. So, I think I will go with ten of my favorite covers that have costumes I would love.

1. Betrayal

I almost bought a dress like this one back when I was young and single, just because it was on sale and I loved how it looked on me. I talked myself out of it, since I didn't have a clue where I would wear it.;)

2. The Storyspinner

I've always loved the look of the corset over a white blouse!

3. The Door in the Hedge

Are you starting to see a theme? If I had been more of a seamstress when I was a teen, I would of had so many unusual dresses.;)

4. Luther and Katharina

I wish this cover showed the front of the dress, since it looks just gorgeous from the back! I love the different fabrics.

5. The Sandcastle Sister

If I could pull it off, I would totally were 1950's dresses all the time. Alas, I am not built like Audrey Hepburn.;)

6. The Emperor's Conspiracy

Why is it generally the back of the dress that is shown? I love the color contrast on this one!

7. Persuasion, Captain Wentworth, and Cracklin' Cornbread

I love the cheery color of this dress!

8. Eleanor and the Iron King

I love the color of this one, along with the sleeves and how it has a full skirt, but not too full.

9. A Heart Most Certain

I love the Edwardian style dresses, like this one!

10. Havencross

I love this style too! I guess it's obvious that I like historical style dresses.;)
What costumes should I have put? Or, what styles would of you have chosen?

  1. What a fun twist on the topic! I should have done some type of pretty dresses or costume post today too. So fun!

Love that cheery yellow dress, and the dress on Melissa's cover is stunning too. :)

    1. I will have to see what you decided to do for this week!
I figured this was more me, since I don't read Halloween style books.;)

  2. I'd love to wear some of these costumes! They're beautiful.

  3. 1 & 2 are just absolutely beautiful!

    Heres my TTT Villains:
    Have a nice week!

    1. I love the layered look of the first one!
      Thanks for stopping by.

  4. I'm so grateful for your post right now. It's early morning and I've been staring wide-eyed at creepy covers and trailers for half an hour now. The costume-distraction is much-needed!

I also love costumes; although I don't really like dressing up, but that's because I hate being the center of attention. Seeing other people in costumes is amazing though, haha.

    Nice covers!

    1. lol, I haven't really looked around much to see what everyone else posted, though it was fun to see the Bookish Owlette's list of villians, and Rissi writes list (since neither were super creepy. lol). I am glad it's not November and we can put the creepiness behind us for another year.;)
I can see not wanting to be the center of attention. I would just love a costume party where gorgeous costumes were expected.;)

  5. I must admit if I could go spend my days in ballgowns I definitely would. Happy Halloween!

  6. Great idea for a twist on the prompt. I don’t think I would be comfortable (at all) in the Texas fall heat in any of these and the summer would probably make me pass out. But they are very beautiful.

    1. I can't imagine how the ladies did it back in the 1800's! It's fun to dress up, but I would not want to wear all the layers in a Southern summer.;)

  7. What a fun take on this week's topics! I love the look of historical dresses too. here is my Top Ten Tuesday.

  8. The Storyspinner cover does have a great outfit!
    My TTT:

  9. Quite a few of these are unfamiliar to me but I love the vibe of them! Great list. I am such a sucker for pretty outfits on book covers. (And pretty outfits as a general thing.)

    1. I should put a disclaimer that a lot of these are on my TBR list, so I haven't actually read them. I am just a sucker for gorgeous covers!

  10. Great list! Any of these would make fabulous costumes.
