Knight of the Battered Armor review

A beautiful princess is held captive by a monstrous snake threatening to destroy her kingdom if she doesn’t marry him. James, the son of a knight, sets out on the long journey to rescue her. But his own skills aren’t enough to win the fight, and it takes teamwork between two unlikely people to save the kingdom.

My thoughts: My kids are getting old enough that they like to sit and listen to me read them longer books, so the length of this one was perfect! I enjoyed the story of Princess Melina and James. It got a little intense for the kids at time, with the villain, but it is an excellent story of character. It brings up some good discussion points on doing the right thing, even when its tough. This is a great story to read with grade school and middle school age kids. The illustrations were a bit more cartoonish than I prefer, but they are colorful and appealing to my kids.
I received this book from JustRead tours. This is my honest review and is in no way influenced by receiving a complimentary copy.
