My thoughts: I enjoyed this story and the wide array of characters! Lisa Phillips does a wonderful job of bringing them to life, with their different strengths and weaknesses. I felt for Pepper, with trying to do the best for her sister and niece, while also trying to survive the harsh criticism of the town. I felt like Allen should have been more forthcoming with the events surrounding their breakup, though I can see how that might not have been on his mind at the time.

This is a wonderful, high suspense read that is hard to put down! It's well written and very driven. I look forward to reading the other books in the series!
