My thoughts: This is a sweet story to read to the child/children in your life to remind them of God’s promises, especially the promise of the rainbow. I love how this picture book tackles a child’s fear of storms by the grandpa telling her the story of Noah and the promise attached to a rainbow. This is a sweet picture book to pick up and enjoy!

My thoughts: What starts out as a case that looks straight forward turns into a tangled web of secrets and mystery when Holly and Jordan are recruited by a friend to help with some family drama. I loved the layers of the story and how it kept me guessing until the end! Written beautifully, with well done characters who are relatable, I look forward to reading more by the author!

This is the 6th book in the series and should be read in order.

My thoughts: I haven’t read all the books in this series, so I felt a little lost at times, since it is set in the future and there have been some major changes to the internet and how information is used. I still was able to enjoy the book and the mystery that Eliana finds herself a part of. I felt like there was still some room for another book, since I still had questions about a few things, but perhaps that would be solved by going back and reading all the books in the series. I liked that there was a lot going on with multiple mysteries. I enjoyed Eliana and Carlos!

My thoughts: I enjoyed the setting of Loving Sarah, with its 1950’s setting and small town charm. I thought that this story had a lot going on as Sarah figures out what she wants in life. The story was sweet with some surprising twists, making it an enjoyable read! This is the first book I have read by Jo Huddleston, but it won’t be the last! I loved her writing style and the retro setting.

My thoughts: I enjoyed this small town story of loss and second chances. My heart broke for Juliette as she struggled to figure out life after losing her husband in a tragic accident. I could feel for Miles as he struggled with feeling like he was too much at times. I also loved the second chance with the characters dreaming of purchasing the campground that had been so instrumental in their youth. This is a sweet story of love and hope, and trusting God when things seem hopeless. I look forward to reading more about the characters in this series!

My thoughts: I read some of Kendy Pearson’s Civil War era stories, so I knew I was in for a well written historical novel when I picked up “Fires of Injustice “. I was not disappointed! The rich historical details and all the actual historical figures made this story incredible! While it’s a hard one to read, since our country was harsh towards the Chinese after the railroad was built, I thought it was a good reminder to fight for what is right. Even if we don’t see much of a difference at the time, things can change when people persist for what is good, even when it seems hopeless. I thought that the characters were well written and engaging . I personally love when there is more going on with secondary characters, and liked that more than the main couple gets a good ending to the story. I look forward to reading the next book in this series!

My thoughts: This was such a fun story! It reminded me a little bit of my own love story, since I thought my husband would only ever be a friend when we first got to know one another. It turns out being friends with your spouse can be a great way to go! 

Joanna gets the wrong first impression of Adam, sending her into the arms of Jacob instead. As time passes, and she has more chances to interact with Adam, she finds that all may not be as she originally assumed. 

While the story is sweet, I thought the grandma age friend group stole the show! They are delightful, as they matchmake and pray for the young people, learning some valuable lessons along the way. I enjoyed all the characters, but they were especially fun. I loved how Ike and Becky show the beauty of a love that endures over time. 

I look forward to reading more books in this series! If you like Amish fiction, I recommend picking this story up!

My thoughts : I really enjoyed returning to this series and the characters! The first book ends with Anna’s wedding, while this one starts up right after and delves even more into the history of the time, as the disciples and those following Jesus of Nazareth find that their actions are being monitored. While there is a lot of history about the times and Jesus’ ministry, I like that the story also shows a very personal side, as Anna navigates being a newlywed and the hardships that come their way. This story deals with love, loss, and the cost of following Jesus. It’s a wonderful story to pick up and enjoy!

Aflame

While I loved the first book in this series, I thought this one was even more amazing! I think it had to do with the fact that not only are the main characters amazing, but there are also some fun side characters that like to kept things interesting. I hope Perla gets her own story! 

I love how different Fjordlandi is from Daryatla. While the previous story had Mer people, Aflame is about a world of ice and lava. 

I loved Kyrja’s character arc. It was such a fun journey to read the book and see her come not her own! This is a wonderful story for adults and teens!

My thoughts; I love Biblical fiction that gives me a chance to reevaluate the classic passages I grew up with and see them in a new light, I thought that Anna of Arimathea did a wonderful job of bringing to life someone who is only mentioned briefly in the New Testament, Joseph of Arimathea, and giving him a daughter who has a story rich in heartbreak and hope. This is the first book I have read by Susanne Blumer, but it won’t be the last, since I was drawn to the rich historical details and character development. This story is a wonderful one to pick up and enjoy!

About the Author

Susanne Blumer lives her life surrounded by stories—some she writes, and some she sells. As the CEO and Founder of Sassafras on Sutton LLC, she is the owner of three magical indie bookstores nestled in the North Carolina mountains of Black Mountain and Waynesville and Beaufort, South Carolina. One even has a full coffee bar. Oh, happy day!

She is the author of The Arimathea Chronicles, a series set in first-century Judea and centered on the life of Anna, the daughter of Joseph of Arimathea. The first book, Anna of Arimathea, published in December 2025 and the second, Anna of Bethsaida, will be available in March 2026. She's also written several children's books, including the award-winning Bell Tower Bible Adventure series she co-wrote with her husband.
