The Forgotten Girl

It is 1906, and sixteen-year-old Stella's life in Durliosy, Poland, is bleak. Her only hope of surviving is to travel to America, a land of freedom and opportunity, and reunite with her brother in Baltimore. There she'll find new challenges, and perhaps, if she can put her painful past behind her, a new chance for love and lasting happiness.

My thoughts: I love that the author based this story on true events, that of her great grandmother coming over to America from Poland in the early 1900's. She did an excellent job of bringing the story alive, the suffering Stella went through and the hope and love she found once she moved to America. I would of loved a little more to the story, like what came next for her, but otherwise thought that this book was wonderful! It was hard to put down! I highly recommend this book.
I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for my honest review.
