Take Ten: Books I can't believe I read
1. War and Peace
Honestly, I had too much time on my hands when I was in high school, so I decided to see how many classics I could knock out. I still can't believe I read this one.;)
2. Space Trilogy
I love C.S. Lewis, but this was just tough to read!
3. Anna and the French Kiss
I'm sorry, I know a lot of people like this series, but I barely made it through book one! I felt bad for Ellie.
4. Vanishing Point
I probably wouldn't of read this book, had I not been into the series already, since it was heartbreaking!
5. Wives and Daughters
Don't get me wrong, it's a great story that I enjoyed, but no one told me how it being unfinished would leave me feeling at odds for days after coming to the end!
6. Sandition
Honestly, I should probably re-read this one, since I remember really liking it despite the fact that "Another Lady" finished it. I thought it was well done at the time.
7. Frankenstein
Just wasn't my thing.
8. Dracula
9. Rook
This one was fine, but it really just made me want to back and read the original story.;)
10. Cat on a Hot Tin Roof
This one was one for college Lit, otherwise I wouldn't of read it.

WOW! Good for you having War & Peace on your books-I've-read list. I like the recent mini series, but aside from this, I don't see myself ever reading the book. :)
ReplyDeleteI may have to check out the mini series, to refresh my memory on the story.
DeleteIf I had to do it again, I probably wouldn't.;)
I can't believe that I've read Frankenstein either. I'm super impressed that you've read War & Peace!
ReplyDeleteI need to go back and watch it now, to remember the story.;) I think my brother liked it more, with all the battles.
DeleteI always feel proud of myself when I read and finish a classic book, especially one everyone thinks is a toughy. My TTT
ReplyDeleteI know! It's been some time since I read a classic.
DeleteI've read Frankenstein a few times now, and each time I end up liking it much more than the time before. If it hadn't been assigned reading at uni last month, it would have been on my list for sure!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe ANYONE has read War and Peace, and I bow down to you for managing it. I've got a copy, but the likelihood is that it's just going to gather dust on my shelf until I give up and donate it.
Here's my TTT.
I may need to give Frankenstein another chance then.;)
DeleteSome books just make us look smarter by having them there.;) Atlas Shrugged is one of those. lol.
You read War and Peace? I am amazed!

Ha, thanks. I was massively bored.;)
DeleteI'm amazed, too, ILoveHeartlandX. I've never been able to finish War and Peace.
ReplyDeleteHere is our Top Ten Tuesday.
I did it when I was younger and had the time.;)
DeleteI did love Anna and the French Kiss, but that was my first real Young Adult Contemporary Romance, and I actually really enjoyed Perkin's lastest book, which was a horror novel. And it took some wonderfully narrated audiobooks to get me to finish Dracula and other classics- but I've read worse. Sadly. ;)
ReplyDeleteI may have to look into her recent book, since it looks like it might be interesting.
DeleteThanks for stopping by!
