Take ten: books I want my kids to read
This post contains affiliate links.
1. The Chronicles of Narnia
Are you surprised this on is on here? lol. We've kind of started on this one with the Voyage of the Dawn Treader. I will probably wait to read the others with them.
2. Harry Potter
Another one we will wait to read, but I look forward to reading these with my kids!
3. Lord of the Rings
Are you sensing a nerd theme?
4. Little House on the Prairie
I should start reading these aloud, since I loved them as a girl!
5. All of a Kind Family
Another of my childhood favorites that I can't wait to share with my children!
6. Molly
I loved all the American Girl books, but Molly was my favorite.
7. Little Women
8. Jo's Boys
This one might be one more to my son's liking.:)
9. Eight Cousins
It's been forever since I picked this one, but I loved it when I was a kid!
10. The Scarlet Pimpernel
Another one I should re-read before we read together (though, we have a while with this one!)
I went with books for older kids, since we read a lot of board and picture books. It will be some time before we tackle this list though.
What books should I add to the list?

Molly and Kit were my favorite American Girls!
ReplyDeleteKit is another good one! I found a Kit doll for a good price, second hand, for my daughter, so we will be reading her story before long.;)
DeleteWhy didn't I think of Narnia? Those are such good books!
ReplyDeleteGreat list!
Thank you! Narnia makes just about every list possible for me.;)
DeleteNarnia is a great choice! :-) So many amazing books.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteLove that you have Little Women on your list as well. And The Little House series sounds amazing too. For a non-native English speaker like me, it's a lot of fun o catch up on English children's literature now that I'm older xD So thanks for the inspiration :)
ReplyDeleteYou should read the Little House books, if you haven't, since it is such a great series about the pioneer days. I look forward to re-reading them.;)
DeleteYes! The Little House books were my life when I was a kid. They are one of the very few books/series I've read more than once. I actually still have the complete boxed set my mom gave me for Christmas when I was 10.
ReplyDeleteHere is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you!
I have my old box set too! I need to pull it out and see if it will work to read it aloud to the kids, or if it would be better to borrow the hard back versions from the library.
DeleteSome great choices here. I didn't read the entire Little House series growing up. I think I stopped at book four or five.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteMy future children will definitely be reading Harry Potter. Everybody should read that series.
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
Yes! I didn't get into it until I was an adult and missed out.;)
DeleteGreat choice.;)
ReplyDeleteNarnia is always a winner! :)
