In 2012, art historian Gwen Morris travels to England's Lake District to appraise the paintings and antiques of an old family friend, hoping to prove herself to her prestigious grandfather. My thoughts: I always love a good duel timeline story! I enjoyed both of the stories in this book, though I favored Charlotte's more, since it had more depth to it. My mother's heart felt bad for her, as she shoulders the secret of her father's that she uncovers after his untimely death. I can only imagine how that would color life.
I hadn't read much about the Lake District of England, so I enjoyed the setting and looking up pictures of the area. This story has me wanting to visit there now!
This is a well written story with a beautiful message of faith and hope.
