My thoughts: I was a bit surprised at the beginning of this book, with some of the language and details of situations that I was not expecting. That said, I understood why it was that way, since Anna doesn't have a relationship with the Lord and is seeking for something to fill the void that her secrets have left her with. I thought that the author did a wonderful job of writing about that journey. There are part of this story that will resonate with a wide variety of readers.
