My thoughts: This is the first book that I have read by Janalyn Voigt. I enjoyed the well written tale so much that I look forward to going back and reading her previous stories!
It was interesting to follow the story of Jake and Liberty. I felt bad for Jake, as he grew up and found that his crazy antics as a child/young adult followed him into adulthood and left him feeling like he didn't deserve Liberty/ I have to admit, with all the little friends my children have, I have thought about not holding some of the crazy behaviors of youth against a child who may one day want to become by son or daughter in law. I really felt for Jake, with the feeling of not being worthy of Liberty, as well as Liberty's pressure to marry well. I love how the story came together and enjoyed the characters immensely!
