My thoughts: I loved this story so much! I saw some of myself in Mary, a wonderful heroine who has been passed over for marriage after most of the young men have left to fight Napoleon. I loved getting to know her for her kindness and that the book wasn't focused so much on looks, especially how she looked. I loved the historical details about the ways doctors treated patients back then. I will warn readers that there is a trigger, with a young woman being violated. It's a side character, so the book doesn't go into a lot of details, but it is still a sad part of the story.  I loved this unique Regency story. It was fun to have the characters not be of the ton and to showcase some of the Lake district in England. I highly recommend picking a copy of this book up!  I received this book from Reading with Audra. This is my honest review and is in no way influenced by receiving a complimentary copy.
