My thoughts: I'm fascinated by what the Americas looked like before winning our independence. Laura does a fantastic job of bringing history to life through the story of Tessa and Clay. I enjoyed Tessa and her no nonsense ways, with being raised with so many brothers! It was interesting to read about the dangers that the settlers faced and the threat of being taken captive by the Indians. This is an excellent, fascinating read!
