Take ten: Things that make me pick up a book

Here is my top ten list of things that make me pick up a book! If you would like to learn more about Top Ten Tuesday, go here. Per usual, if you are interested in learning more about the book, click the photo to go to Amazon. These are affiliate links, so thank you for supporting my hobby.;)

1. The Romanov family

I've mentioned this before, and while I don't pick up every book about the Romanov family, I went through a phase in early high school where I was into reading about the Romanovs. That said, it's weird that I have never seen the cartoon Anastasia.;)

2. Letter writing

I'm fairly certain that it has been established that I'm a huge nerd, so this one should come as no surprise. I get all swoony when characters fall in love through letters.

Yes, fairly certain this will always be my favorite Kasie West story.;)

3. Libraries

It all started with Beauty and the Beast.;)

4. A good Jane Austen inspired story

This is one of my favorites, when "Another Lady" finished Sandition.

5. Fairy tale retelling

These are some of my favorites, since they are original while still fitting as retellings. I highly recommend them!

6. Fairies

I actually don't read a whole lot about fairies, but I do love a good fairy story, like this series!

7. A story set in WWII

This one comes to mind, since I have a copy coming soon!

8. Pretty covers with elegant writing

Another one that is on my mind, since it arrived today!

9. Fun characters

I adore Madeline!

10. Magic

Magic/speculative fiction, I don't read tons of it, but I do enjoy it and watch for new releases from my favorite authors!

  3. Yes I love books about libraries, have you read Rachel Caine's Great Library series? I've only read the first two, but they were really good, I need to get back to the rest of the series! I'm really excited for Romanov, it looks so good. Fantasy is my favourite genre, so of course I adore books with magic.

  7. Generally I too really like stories set during WWII, and anything Anastasia related leaves me curious. Letter writing is also another romantic trope I'm always happy to discover, too. :)

  8. I am totally the same about the last of Romanov dynasty. I actually read an ARC of Romanov late last year and it was really fun, so I get a little prone to grins when I see it mentioned. That cover is so gorgeous. I'm surprised you haven't seen the animated Anastasia film! I used to love it. Anyways, these are a lot of great reasons to be drawn to a book!
